Lee will be playing Oud with master Arabic percussionist Loay Darboar for a private event at Square Inc. in San Francisco. They will be playing Arabic music classics ranging from Umm Kulthum, to Muwashahat and Qudud Halabiyya.
Lee will be playing with his trio at the Monday night events hosted by the Oakland Freedom Jazz Society at the Pro Arts Gallery and Commons in Oakland, CA. Lee will be leaning into his “free jazz” and “new music” dispositions on this date, featuring original compositions, improvisations, and everything in between. Concert will have a suggested donation between $7-$15, and Lee’s group will be sharing the bill with Jordan Glenn and Jakob Pek. Lee Dynes will be playing with his group at Noise, a locally owned record store in the Richmond District. Lee will be joined by bassist Chris Bastian, and drummer Matt Buckner. They will be playing a mix of Lee’s original music, world music, and straight ahead jazz. Music goes from 4-7pm, suggested donation at the door goes to the band.
NOISE is a family-operated record store, art gallery, & live music performance space in San Francisco's Richmond District. Owner, Dan, is also a music educator and full time working musician here in San Francisco for 15 years and counting. He performs regularly with the Marcus Shelby Orchestra, Lilan Kane's 'Hella Fitzgerald' band, Grant Levin's Power Samba Ensemble, Fil Lorenz Orchestra and many other groups in the SF/Oakland Bay Area on occasion including Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Nick Culp Quintet.
Lee will be playing Sudani folkloric music and classical Arabic music with Sudani vocalist Salma El Assal and Aswat Ensemble. The concert begins at 10am and ends at 12pm, at San Jose City College. Lee will be playing both guitar and oud. Free and open to the public.
